Feeling Texture through a Digital Screen

Feeling Texture through a Digital Screen

While 3D motion is still exceptionally rare in the textile industry, it unlocks a level of product storytelling that static photography simply cannot reach.

High-end 3D animation doesn’t just show a material, it enriches the product, elevating every texture and detail to create an immersive, tactile connection with the customer.

This project is created to be felt, combining dynamic cloth simulations with tactile material properties. Capturing realism while maintaining complete creative control.

During this Autumn campaign for Stoffsale,

I ensured the simulated fabrics were indistinguishable from the physical product. The most crucial phase was studying the depth, structure, and feel of real boiled wool.

Once the fabric development was complete, the focus shifted to motion, discovering new ways to present textiles to the eye and revealing perspectives that are nearly impossible to achieve without high-end 3D.
